Soviet Award Banner featuring Lenin’s portrait.
This is GUARANTEED 100% ORIGINAL, Soviet period item – not a replica!
Measures over 14 ½” tall (not including the fringe), 11” wide. Made in attractive artificial silk, with a decorative border in twisted silk cord along the edges and fringe of twisted gold strands at the bottom.  The upper portion of the pennant features printed portrait of Lenin and patriotic artwork with soaring space rocket, in the manner he was often depicted on Soviet monuments, banners and posters during 1970s-80s.
The text near the top edge is Lenin’s famously wrong prediction: “We shall come to victory of the Communist labor! V. I. Lenin”. In the lower half is inscription “To a Team of Communist Labor.”  The reverse side is blank. There is no internal wire but one can be easily inserted at the top if desired to hang the pennant on the wall.
The pennant is in VERY GOOD condition. The artwork and text are perfectly preserved with only minimal amount of fading, no significant wear. There are a few small scuffs and minor amount of soiling in several small spots, but the pennant is very sound and presentable overall. The wrinkles should disappear if the pennant is carefully steamed.
