    Voluntary People's Friendship (DND) is a Soviet and Russian voluntary organization that assists state law enforcement agencies in protecting public order, protecting the state border, at the enterprise, collective farm, house management, street or village level.
    In the USSR, the squads had the status of amateur organizations, their tasks were the fight against crime, assistance to the border troops in guarding the state border, prevention and suppression of public order violations and educational work with the population in cooperation with state bodies. In their activities, the squads received assistance from the state, Komsomol, party and trade union organizations.
